Who is the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority?
The IANA delegates the actual administration of protocol identifier assignments to various registry organizations, including:
InterNIC (Internet Network Information Center)
APNIC (Asian-Pacific Network Information Center)
Each of these groups is responsible for different registrations, such as second level domain names or top level country domains.
