15 Minute Series What is Lynx?

Lynx is a text-based web browser that enables a user to see the text of files that are available on the World Wide Web.

Using Lynx, a user is unable to experience the graphics, sounds, video, photographs etc. that are available on the web. However, because it does not download graphics, Lynx is generally a fast browser and a good choice when only text is needed.

Lynx was originally developed by the Distributed Computing Group within the Academic Computing Services of The University of Kansas.
