Chapter 5. Help Commands

$ Basic Commands

Function

Command will send a help screen to the DTE describing in brief about each of the "AT" single letter commands.

Command Syntax

AT$ <argument>

Arguments

None.

DTE Interface

None.

LEDS

None.

Aborting Events

Entering a <ctrl> C will stop the command. Entering a <ctrl> S will hold or restart the command.

Other

Display is halted by entering <ctrl> S from DTE, and restarted by entering <ctrl s> or <any key> from DTE. Command returns summary of following commands to the DTE:

  • &$, In, A/, Ln, A>, Mn, AT, On, A, P, B, Qn, D, Sr=n, DL, Sr?, DSn, S$, D$, T, En, Vn, Fn, Xn, Hn, Yn, $, Zn,, +++
    •

    &$ Extended Ampersand

    Function

    Command causes one screen summarizing extended command set to be sent to the DTE.

    Command Syntax

    AT&$ <argument>

    Argument

    No arguments allowed.

    DTE Interface

    None.

    LED

    None.

    Aborting Events

    <ctrl> C or <ctrl> K entered from DTE.

    Other

    Display is halted by entering <ctrl> S from DTE, and restarted by entering <ctrl s> or <any key> from DTE. Command returns summary of following commands to the DTE:

  • &A, &N, &B, &P, &C, &R, &D, &S, &F, &T, &G, &U, &H, &W, &I, &Y, &K, &Zn=s, &M, &Zn?
    •

    S$ S register

    Function

    Command will send a multiple help screens to the DTE describing the functionality of selected S registers.

    Command Syntax

    ATS$ <Argument>

    Argument

    None.

    DTE Interface

    None.

    LEDS

    None.

    Aborting Events

    Entering a <ctrl> C will stop the command. Entering a <ctrl> S will hold or restart the command.

    Other

    The S registers described in the S$ help screens are as follows:

  • S0-S13, S15-S16, S18-S19, S21-S23, S25, S27-S34

    D$ Dial

    Function

    Command causes one screen summarizing dial commands to be sent to the DTE.

    Command Syntax

    ATD$ <argument>

    Arguments

    None.

    DTE Interface

    None.

    LED

    None.

    Aborting Events

    <ctrl> C or <ctrl> K entered from DTE.

    Other

    Display of screen can be halted by DTE, entering <ctrl> S, and restarted by DTE entering any character.

    Command returns summary of following dial commands to the DTE:

  • Digits used in dial string, Auxiliary touch tone pad digits, Tone dialing command, Pulse dialing command, Reverse frequencies, Pause, Return to command mode, Quote mode, Wait for second dial tone, Wait for answer, Flash switch hook, ? S register Contents
    •

    Function

    Placing the question mark after a command letter or S register will display the contents of that command or S register.
