====== Sony CDX-GT470UM Car Radio ====== ==== Subwoofer connection ==== It is necessary to inform the radio about the optionally connected subwoofer. It is possibile to attach a passive (not amplified) one directly to the head unit, or to use an amplified one through an amplifier. If you want to use the rear speakers instead of a subwoofer, you must use the REAR-OUT setting here. **NOTICE**: You have to switch the device OFF to access this setting: * GENERAL * REAR/SUB * SUB-OUT: Send the subwoofer signal directly to a subwoofer. * **REAR-OUT**: Send the subwoofer signal to a power amplifier. ==== Sound position ==== Add some sound delay to each channel to simulate a natural sound field based on the listening position. Set the F/R POSITION according to your preferred listening position; for two people in the front seats, FRONT should be selected: * SOUND * POSITION * SET F/R POSITION * FRONT L, FRONT R, **FRONT**, ALL, OFF ==== High Pass Filter ==== If you have a subwoofer or you are using the rear spakers as subwoofer (or simply if your audio environment needs to cut some of the low frequencies), it is possible to enable an high-pass filter for the front and the rear speakers. * SOUND * HPF * **HPF FREQ**: High-pass filter cut-off frequency. * OFF, 50Hz, 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, **120Hz** * **HPF SLOP**: Slope (steepness) of the high-pass filter curve (an higher slope means a more drastic cut-off). * 1, **2** or 3 ==== Using the rear speakers as a subwoofer (Rear Bass Enhancer) ==== It is possibile to simulate the function of a subwoofer using the rear speakers. You can select the cut-off frequency for the sound to be sent to the rear speakers and the steepness (slope) of the cut-off curve. **NOTICE**: Set the subwoofer connection to REAR-OUT before. * SOUND * RB ENH * **RBE MODE** No documentation exists about the differencies on modes. * **1**, 2, 3 or OFF * LPF FREQ * 50Hz, 60Hz, **80Hz**, 100Hz or 120Hz * LPF SLOP (an higher slope means a more drastic cut-off) * 1, **2** or 3 ==== Alternative Frequencies restricted to the same region ==== When the Alternative Frequencies option is enabled, the radio retunes the station to the strongest signal (it uses RDS to find stations of the same network). By default the searching is restricted to the same region, but you can disable this restriction. **NOTICE**: You have to tune an FM radio station to set this: * GENERAL * REGIONAL * **OFF** ==== DM+ ON ==== This digital filter is intended to restore high frequencies lost in the digital audio compression process. **NOTICE**: This settings is not available when the radio is on the TUNER source. * SOUND * DM+ * **ON** ==== AUX VOLUME ==== If the volume of your AUX source is too different from e.g. the TUNER source, it is possible to adjust its volume, increasing or decreasing it. **NOTICE**: Set the radio to the AUX source to set this. * SOUND * AUX VOL * **+6dB**
